TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women’s tennis team (3-0) defeated Arkansas State (0-1), 6-1, Saturday at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility. The Crimson Tide secured the doubles point before earning five singles victories to open the season undefeated.

“I was very pleased with the weekend. I felt like we did a good job on Friday, which was our first day of competition with a doubleheader, and usually that’s a day when a team can be a bit rusty, but we were locked in, played with great intensity and found a way to be competitive. After a doubleheader, it’s usually when a team’s energy and focus can drop, but that was not the case today. I think the players did a good job from start to finish and had a strong mentality while also being good teammates to one another. We talk about enjoying the wins, but we’re not content, and we will continue to build from here into next week and SEC play. Roll Tide!”

• Sidelnyk closed out the match on court six, winning a third-set tiebreak, 6-3, 3-6, 10-5, giving the Tide its third win in two days
