Florida Set to Open Official Indoor Season with Local Meet

GAINESVILLE, Fla.–  The University of Florida will officially open its indoor track and field season at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational at the Alachua County Sports Complex at Celebration Pointe. While the meet consists of a two day event spanning from Jan. 15-16, the Gators will take their mark on Friday, Jan. 16 for the Division I Universities and Professional Invite portion of the meet. 

LAST TIME OUT

On Saturday, December 6, 2025, four Gators competed in the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener where Kelvin Cheruiyot broke the Florida school record in the 5000m, while Tia Wilson and Judy Chepkoech collected top five school marks. Hilda Olemomoi finished fourth overall and first among the Gators. 

WHO IS COMPETING

The Gators will feature 45 athletes in 28 individual events and two relays in Friday’s action. A full break-down of which athletes are competing in each event can be found below and are displayed in distance order.
