Selena Harris-Miranda Earns SEC Weekly Award

Last Updated: January 13, 2026By

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Selena Harris-Miranda made an early statement to start the season, and the Southeastern Conference took notice. After delivering some of the nation’s top scores in Florida gymnastics’ opening quad-meet victory last Friday, the senior earned this season’s first SEC Specialist of the Week honor.

The award adds to Harris-Miranda’s growing SEC résumé. It marks her fourth weekly conference honor after she was named SEC Gymnast of the Week three times during her standout first season with the Gators in 2025.

Other weekly honors went to LSU’s Kailin Chio (Gymnast of the Week) and Oklahoma’s Mackenzie Estep (Freshman of the Week).

Selena Harris-Miranda – SEC Specialist of the Week:

  • Selena Harris-Miranda’s 9.975 matches the second-highest beam score in a season opener in program history. She joins Ellie Lazzari (2024) and Trinity Thomas (2020). Thomas set event record with a 10.0 to open in 2023 beam action.
  • Selena Harris-Miranda’s 9.95 matches the program’s second-highest bars mark in a season-opener. She has some good company in second, as two of Florida’s NCAA bars champions – Trinity Thomas (3 times) and Leanne Wong (2x) – also opened a season with a 9.95 bars mark. Melanie Sinclair set the high season-opening bars mark of 9.975 to win the 2007 Super Six Challenge in Fayetteville, Ark.

  • Won 14 event titles in 2025 (4 all-around, vault, 3 bars, 2 beam and 1 floor)
  • No. 1 in Jan. 12 Road to National balance beam rankings with 9.975. Also No. T10 in vault (9.90), No. T2 in bars (9.950).
