Jessica Timmons Named SEC Player of the Week
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama women’s basketball’s Jessica Timmons was named the Southeastern Conference Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. This marks the Charlotte, N.C., native’s first conference accolade since arriving to The Capstone.
Timmons aided in the Crimson Tide’s 64-51 win over then-No. 6/7 Kentucky and its 74-63 road victory at Missouri, as her performance versus the Wildcats and Tigers marked her 13th and 14th game in double figures.
- Paced Alabama with 24 points on Jan. 8 versus then-No. 6/7 Kentucky to help UA earn its highest win over a ranked opponent since 1997
- Shot 8-for-16 (50 percent) from the field and 6-for-7 (86 percent) from the free throw line against the Wildcats
- Earned her 14th double-digit game on Monday following a 16-point performance in the Tide’s victory at Missouri
- Actively leads Alabama in scoring, averaging 15.4 points per game
- Collected her ninth game shooting 100 percent from the free throw line as she currently paces UA and ranks second in the SEC in free throw percentage (85 percent)
- Returned this season after redshirting the 2024-25 year
