Bulldogs in the NFL Week 18

ATHENS, Ga. – Week 18 of NFL action is complete, and several former Bulldogs had exceptional performances for their respective teams.
 
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford ended the regular season on a high note with yet another four-touchdown performance against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Stafford led the league in passing yards and passing touchdowns this season, finishing with 4,707 yards and 46 touchdowns. The Rams will now head to Carolina next weekend to face off against the Panthers as Stafford looks to continue his strong play into the postseason.
 
Meanwhile, despite being rested for the playoffs, Buffalo Bills running back James Cook III, captured the NFL rushing title with 1,621 rushing yards. This is the first rushing title of Cook’s career, and he becomes the first former Bulldog to accomplish this feat since Terrell Davis in 1998.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 16, Carolina Panthers 14
Tykee Smith, S – Started at safety for Tampa Bay recording five tackles.
Trevor Etienne, RB –  Saw action on offense and special teams for Carolina, returning one punt for three yards.

Robert Beal Jr., OLB – Was listed as inactive for San Francisco due to a coach’s decision.
 
Buffalo Bills 35, New York Jets 8
James Cook III, RB – Started at running back for Buffalo but played just two snaps to rest before the playoffs. Rushed twice for 15 yards to secure the crown as the NFL’s leading rusher for the 2025-26 season as he finished the year with 1,621 rushing yards. Cook becomes the first Georgia running back since Terrell Davis in 1998 to accomplish this feat.
Sedrick Van Pran Granger, C – Started at center for the Bills as the offense gained over 400 yards and the offensive line allowed zero sacks.
Arian Smith, WR – Saw snaps on offense and special teams for the Jets, rushing once for two yards, and recording one tackle.
Chris Smith II, S – Dressed for New York but recorded no statistics.
 
Atlanta Falcons 19, New Orleans Saints 17
Jalon Walker, ILB – Played over 30 snaps for Atlanta on defense, recording two tackles and one tackle for loss.
Leonard Floyd, DE – Saw action on over 25 defensive snaps for the Falcons, recording one tackle.

Ben Yurosek, TE – Appeared on over 25 offensive snaps for the Vikings, catching one pass for nine yards.
Quay Walker, ILB –  Was listed as inactive for Green Bay due to a coach’s decision.
