Football Has Three On AFCA All-America Teams

ATHENS, Ga. — Three Bulldogs have been named American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-Americans, according to an announcement Tuesday.
 
Graduate SN Beau Gardner, a native of San Francisco, Ca., was included on the First Team days after earning the Patrick Mannelly Award as the nation’s top snapper.  Redshirt junior C Drew Bobo, a native of Athens, Ga., and junior ILB C.J. Allen, a native of Barnesville, Ga., were awarded Second Team AFCA All-America honors.
 
On Monday, Allen was named to the Associated Press All-America First Team and senior P Brett Thorson was tabbed a Second Team selection.  Thorson also won the 2025 Ray Guy Award for being the country’s premier punter.
 
This past Friday, Thorson was named a Walter Camp First Team All-American while Allen was included as a Second Team All-American with the group.

*The Sporting News – Wednesday
*Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) – Thursday
*Consensus All-Americans will be released by the NCAA on Friday
 
Third-seeded Georgia (12-1) will play in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, La., on Jan. 1.  The Bulldogs will play the winner of Ole Miss-Tulane, who take on each other in the CFP first round on Dec. 20.
