Denigan Named MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist
ATHENS, Ga. – University of Georgia redshirt junior midfielder Summer Denigan was named one of 15 semifinalists for the 2025 MAC Hermann Trophy, as announced Tuesday afternoon by United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club.
Denigan is the first Bulldog to ever reach the semifinal round of the MAC Hermann Trophy, presented to the top men’s and women’s players in NCAA Division I soccer since 1967. She was previously named to the trophy watch list in October, joining Carrie Patterson (2008) and Croix Bethune (2023) as the only other players in program history with the distinction.
Denigan put together one of the strongest offensive seasons in program history, ranking third in the SEC with 11 goals, with four of them proving to be match winners along with an equalizer against Kentucky to remain in the SEC Tournament. The team captain’s output made her the program’s first double-digit scorer since Mollie Belisle in 2021. The Union, Kentucky native started all 21 matches this season, tallying 1,688 minutes on the field. Along with goals, she led the team in points (23), shots (56), and shots on goal (24).
During the season, Denigan was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week after her winner took down No. 12 North Carolina, while also being named to the TopDrawerSoccer Midseason Top 100 Players List (No. 19).
The three finalists for the trophy will be named on Wednesday, Dec. 10 and the award will be presented on Jan. 9, 2026.
