Dobson Named SEC Women’s Freshman Swimmer of the Week

ATHENS, Ga. – University of Georgia swimmer Kennedi Dobson was named Southeastern Conference Women’s Freshman Swimmer of the Week, as announced Tuesday afternoon by the league office.
 
Dobson continued the terrific start to her Georgia career with a great performance at the Georgia Fall Invitational, earning two individual wins and one relay victory. In her first collegiate 1,650y freestyle, the Levittown, Pennsylvania placed first with a personal-best NCAA cut of 15:47.61, the second-fastest time nationally and fifth-fastest performance in program history.
 
In the 200y freestyle, Dobson touched first with a PB of 1:42.19, the eighth-fastest time nationally and fourth-fastest in program history. She also anchored the Bulldogs’ winning 800y freestyle relay with a split of 1:41.91, an NCAA automatic qualifying time. The relay ranks third nationally and fourth in program history.
 
Dobson was previously named SEC Woman’s Freshman of the Week on Oct. 21 and Nov. 4.
