Freeling Named SEC Offensive Lineman Of The Week Again
ATHENS, Ga. — Junior OL Monroe Freeling has been named the Southeastern Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week after the Bulldogs’ dismantling of the Longhorns, according to a league announcement.
Freeling, a native of Charleston, S.C., is the sixth Bulldog to earn an SEC weekly honor this season. PK Peyton Woodring won Special Teams Player of the Week after the Mississippi State and Tennessee wins. QB Gunner Stockton (Offensive) garnered Offensive Player of the Week honors after the victory over the Vols and Freeling was the Offensive Lineman of the Week after the Auburn win. Stockton was also named the Offensive Player of the Week after the victory over Ole Miss.
Freeling graded out at 80 percent and had give knockdown blocks during Georgia’s 35-10 rout of No. 10 Texas. He allowed no sacks or pressures as the Bulldogs went 4-for-4 in the Red Zone with four touchdowns. Freeling and the rest of the offensive line protected Stockton as he went 24-for-29 for 229 yards and four scores plus a rushing touchdown.
The No. 4 Bulldogs (9-1, 7-1 SEC) will play host to Charlotte (1-9). SEC Network will televise the matchup at 12:45 p.m. on Dooley Field in Sanford Stadium.
