Gators Nab Automatic Bid to NCAA Nationals with South Regional Title, Cheruiyot Claims Individual Crown Once More
WOMEN
The day started with the women’s 6k, where three of Florida’s five scorers posted top ten finishes. Hilda Olemomoi (4) and Judy Chepkoech (5) crossed the line within 0.01 seconds of each other, finishing 19:14.74 and 19:17.5. Tia Wilson (6) followed close behind, posting a 19:15.12 for the Gators top three. Claire Stegall (15) and Beth Morley (22) rounded out the scoring five for the Orange and Blue to post just 52 points for Florida’s South Regional Title, the first since 2009.
Each of Florida’s scoring five earned All-Region Honors for their top 25 placement in the South Region.
MEN
The Gator Men capped the season with a solid seventh place team finish in their first 10k of the season. Cheruiyot took the individual title, pulling ahead in the last 2k to cross the line in 29:09.1. Oussama Allaoui (21) made it across the line second for the Gators at 30:11.7 before Jonathan Leon (36) came in less than 30 seconds later at 30:40.6. Riley Novack (43) and Josh Ruiz (63) rounded out Florida’s scoring five, tallying 160 total team points.
Cheruiyot and Allaoui earned All-Region Honors for their top 25 placement in the South Region.

The Women’s 2025 South Regional win notes the first for the program since 2009, as the return to the NCAA Cross Country Championship marks Florida’s third consecutive team
appearance for the women.
CHERUIYOT THE CHAMPION
Kelvin Cheruiyot remains undefeated in his last three meets, placing first once more in the 2025 NCAA South Regional, nabbing an automatic individual bid to the NCAA Cross Country Championship. Cheruiyot’s 29:09.1 makes him the first Florida man to qualify for the NCAA Championship since 2015.

The Gator Women and Cheruiyot will head to Columbia, Mo. for their final race of the season at the NCAA Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Nov. 22.
