Florida men’s basketball has signed 7-footer Jones Lay out of Moravian Prep, head coach Todd Golden announced on Wednesday.
 
“We are really excited to welcome Jones to our program here at the University of Florida,” Golden said. “Jones is a big, strong athlete, with his best basketball in front of him. He is a smart, hard worker, who already has a lot of the qualities we look for in our student-athletes. He comes from a family of coaches and athletes, and we believe he will become a valuable piece to our program.”
 
A native of Tabor City, N.C., Lay holds a three-star prospect ranking from ESPN and Rivals and will join the Gators in 2026.
 
The 10th-ranked Gators return to action on Sunday, Nov. 16, vs. Miami at the Jacksonville Hoops Showdown. Tickets are available for the 8:30 p.m. tip at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.

All Gators Weekend Pack

The All Gators Weekend Pack is now available, which includes the Florida men’s basketball game against Merrimack on Friday, November 21, and the Florida football game against Tennessee on Saturday, November 22, for only $149 plus taxes/fees.

 

All fans attending the Merrimack men’s basketball game will receive a 2025 NCAA National Championship replica ring, presented by Meldon Law.
