ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia junior ILB CJ Allen has been named one of eight semifinalists for the 2025 Lott IMPACT Trophy, according to an announcement from The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation.

Allen, a native of Barnesville, Ga., is one of three players from the Southeastern Conference named to the award that presented annually to the nation’s top defensive player, who also exhibits the characteristics of Ronnie Lott by making an IMPACT (Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community, Tenacity) on and off the field.

Finalists will be announced Nov. 20.  A national voter poll will select the winner of the Lott IMPACT Trophy, which will be presented in Newport Beach, Calif., on Dec. 7 at The Pacific Club.  Former three-time Bulldog All-American David Pollack won the inaugural accolade in 2004.

Allen leads the SEC averaging 8.3 tackles through nine games.  He has piled up 75 stops, including six tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks, to go with two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.  He has been Georgia’s leading tackler seven times this season and has been a captain four times.  Allen’s work in the community is also tops among his teammates, including visiting his former elementary, middle and high schools during the Bulldogs’ off week to encourage current students.

The No. 5 Bulldogs (8-1, 6-1 SEC) will play host to No. 10 Texas (7-2, 4-1) on Saturday.  ABC will televise the matchup at 7:30 p.m. on Dooley Field in Sanford Stadium.  SEC Nation will also visit Athens for the second time this season and be set up at Myers Quad.
