TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Andrii Zimnokh and Jacob Olar highlighted the Alabama men’s tennis team at the Crimson Tide Fall Challenge as the UA duo posted a perfect doubles performance over the three-day event.

Zimnokh and Olar went 3-0 over the weekend, defeating opponents from Virginia Tech, Columbia and Louisville. Additionally, Vit Kalina would win two doubles matches, playing with Carlos Gimenez Perez and Brendan Loh, respectively.

In singles action, Kalina and Olar paced the team with a pair of wins as both athletes saw victories against Columbia and Louisville.

From Head Coach George Husack

“Nice to host another quality tournament at home and grateful for the teams that participated as well as our support staff that delivered another outstanding performance all weekend.

“[We] Saw more improvement from our players from start to finish especially in doubles. We served and moved well at the net, made tough returns that created opportunities to finish points and, overall, were focused on the task at hand.

“In singles, we are improving with our ability to be offensive and create issues for our opponents. We can get better at being more demanding of ourselves with our game plans, which are pretty similar across the board with our team. We see more success in this area in practice when there is no scoreboard turned on, so we’ll need to be more willing to apply these tools in competition. We have more practice and tournaments ahead which is the great thing about the fall. It’s our pre-season and time to develop our games.”
