Equestrian to Compete Against No. 2 South Carolina, UC Davis

ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 1 ranked Georgia equestrian team will return to Bishop to compete against second-ranked South Carolina on Friday at 10 a.m. and UC Davis on Saturday at 11 a.m.

 

Georgia is coming off a victory against Delaware State, 11-8, where Tessa Downey, Abbey Zawisza and Raegan Shepherd were named Most Outstanding Performer in Fences, Horsemanship and Reining. The Bulldogs also competed against Centenary in Jumping Seat competition and defeated the Cyclones 7-1. Liza Cram and Maggie Bresch were awarded with Most Outstanding Performer honors in their respective events.

 

The Mane Dawgs last faced the Gamecocks on February 22, where Georgia took the win 11-8. The Bulldogs own a 43-18 overall record against South Carolina, including a 19-3 record in Bishop. Saturday’s competition marks the third time that Georgia has faced the Aggies of UC Davis, but it will be the first time the two will compete in Bishop. The two teams last met on November 7, 2024, where the Bulldogs walked away victorious 13-7.

 

Friday will be the Mental Health Awareness. The first 100 fans will receive a donut. Saturday is the team’s annual Pink Meet. The first 200 fans will receive a Georgia Equestrian Pink Out button. 

 

Admission to all meets is free.
