Florida 17-under leads into final round of The Ally
The Gators had a team round of 9-under this afternoon after some weather delays to produce a 36-hole score of 559 (-17) and look to win the event for the third consecutive season and earn back-to-back wins to finish the fall. Behind UF sits Arkansas (-16), Vanderbilt (-10), Ole Miss (-4) and Mississippi State (-3).
All six UF golfers shot rounds of par or better led by Paula Francisco’s 68 (-4). The junior closed her round with an eagle-birdie-par finish to climb 28 spots and sit T14 and 1-under after two rounds.
Graduate Megan Propeck collected the second-lowest round with a 69 (-3) to move to 2-under overall. Her round of only featured one bogey as she leads in par-3 scoring at 2.50 (-4) and is tied for 11th.
Sitting a shot out of the lead is Elaine Widjaja at 5-under. The sophomore shot a round two of 71 (-1) after +2 through 12 holes, she closed bogey-free and 3-under in the final seven holes. She will compete for her first collegiate win and trails leader Elizabeth Rudisill (Vanderbilt) by a shot as she had a tournament-low 8-under round.
To round out the lineup, both Katelyn Huber and Addison Klonowski are tied for 7th with a score of 141 (-3). The duo both had their second straight low round as Huber’s is her fifth in 10 rounds this season.
Competing as an individual and making her season debut, Sophie Stevens fired a 2-under 70 that only carried a single bogey on the card. She climbed 19 spots to sit tied for 23rd.
