Georgia Faces Final Regular Season Test at Missouri’s Pre-Nationals

Last Updated: October 16, 2025By

Columbia, Mo. — Georgia men’s and women’s close the 2025 regular season with its toughest test of the season against multiple nationally ranked opponents at the Pre-National Invitational hosted by Missouri at the Gans Creek Cross Course on Friday.

The Bulldogs will face a total of 12 ranked teams this weekend across both the men’s and women’s competition, proving to be one of the most challenging tests of the season thus far. The meet was initially scheduled for Saturday morning; however, the threat of inclement weather in Columbia, Mo. this weekend pushed the race up to Friday.

“We have been eagerly awaiting another shot to take the course so moving this meet up a day works great for us,” said Cross Country Coach Adam Tribble. “This marks our final regular season meet and I am looking forward to seeing what level of progress we have made over the last month and a half. Pre-Nats always gives you an immediate sense of where your team truly stands before the postseason, so I think our group is excited about the opportunity in Columbia.”

This marks the first trip to the Pre-National Invitational since the 2021 season for the Bulldogs, offering an opportunity for the team to scout out the NCAA Championship course for the season.

Freshman Anastasia Nilsson and sophomore Izzy Yonas were the top performers for the Lady Bulldogs three weeks ago at the FSU Invite. Nilsson finished seventh at 20:46.5, while Yonas clocked a personal-best 20:49.6 to claim eighth in the 6K race, leading the team to a third-place finish.

Also running for the women are freshmen Madeleine Holland, Lauren Skeens, Maeve Waddell and Elise Wooddell.

On the men’s side, junior Ryan Olree was the top finisher from last meet with a first-place finish at 24:06.2 in the men’s 8K race. Another Bulldog to watch this weekend is graduate transfer Will Aitken, who crossed the line at 24:12.7 in third place. Both performances led the men to its second consecutive first place finish this season, marking the first time since the 2023 season.

Other Bulldog men also running at Missouri are freshman Kristers Kudlis, junior Conner Rutherford and graduate transfers Oliver Smart and Matias Reynaga.

Competition begins at 11 a.m. ET with the women’s 6K race, followed by the men’s 8K race at 11:45 a.m. ET
