Jones Claims Medalist Honors at Turtle Point Invite

KILLEN, Ala. – Alabama men’s golfer Brycen Jones claimed medalist honors at the Turtle Point Invite on Tuesday afternoon, finishing the two day, 54-hole event with a winning score of 16-under par 200 (66-64-70). 

Jones, who was one of four Crimson Tide golfers that were competing as an individual on the week, earned the team’s second medalist honor of the year, joining William Jennings who won the Folds of Honor Collegiate last month. 

Individual Highlights

  • This marks Brycen Jones’ second top two finish of the season, as he also recorded a runner-up result as an individual competitor at the GMAC Invitational last month in Oneonta, Ala.
  • Jones earned the win by one stroke of Auburn’s Logan Reilly (-15), who was also competing as an individual in the event
  • Jones led the field with 22 total birdies, ranked second in par 4 scoring (-8, 3.73) and was third in par 3 scoring (-2, 2.83)
  • Michael Crocker tied for eighth at 7-under 209 (69-71-69) and Jack Mitchell tied for 10th at 6-under 210 (70-73-67) to result in three Crimson Tide golfers among the top 10 finishers
  • Tristin Wisener rounded out the UA individuals at 2-over 218 (73-73-72)
