Paul Named to Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List
KANSAS CITY, Mo. –– Alabama’s Gianna Paul was named to the 2025 Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List, the United Soccer Coaches announced Tuesday.
Alabama’s all-time leading goal scorer, Paul paces the team in all three offensive categories this season with seven goals, five assists and 19 points.
The Hermann Trophy is the highest individual honor awarded in intercollegiate soccer and is given to the best individual male and female player, as voted on by NCAA Division I soccer coaches and announced by the United Soccer Coaches and Missouri Athletic Club (MAC).
Paul was originally one of 43 players to be named to the preseason watch list for the prestigious award, joining All-Americans and First Team All-Region selections from the year prior. A group of 15 semifinalists will be announced on Dec. 2 at the conclusion of the 2025 All-American voting.

- Ranks fifth nationally among NCAA Division I players in career goals (35) and sixth in career points (82)
- Her 35 career goals set an Alabama record, surpassing a 20-year-old standard set by Libby Probst (33 goals) between 2002-05
- She ranks 36th nationally in total points this season with 19, which also places her second in the Southeastern Conference
- Additionally, she is tied for fourth in assists (5) and fifth in goals (7) against conference players for the 2025 campaign
- One of the SEC’s top offensive threats she averages four shots a game, which ranks ninth nationally and is highest average in the SEC
- Paul also holds the school record in career shots (251) and career shots on goal (103)
