GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Gators are hosting the ITA Men’s Southeast Regional Championship from Oct. 8-13. The Gators are one of 15 schools across the states of Florida and Georgia to have athletes compete in the tournament, which can provide more players for an automatic bid for NCAAs in November.

The five-day tournament will have a qualifier draw for singles that begins on Wednesday, Oct. 8 with three rounds of tennis, a round of 64, a round of 32 and a consolation round of 32. The winners from the round of 32 will have chance to then compete in the singles main draw, which begins Thursday, Oct. 9. The doubles competition will also begin on Thursday day with a round of 32.

There will be five Gators competing in the singles competition with two doubles partners. Andreas Timini and Tanapatt Nirundorn will reunite for doubles after going undefeated in the Holmes Cathrall Memorial Invitational at Penn State. Kevin Edengren and Jeremy Jin will also compete as doubles partners, while Henry Jefferson will only compete in singles.

All five Gators have been selected to play in the main draw, so their matches will begin on Thursday.

The tournament is an open event that will have an 8:30 a.m. EST time on the first day and is free admission for fans, who can find parking in the law school lot.
