Dawgs in the NFL: Week Three

ATHENS, Ga. – Week three of NFL action is complete, and several former Bulldogs had exceptional performances for their respective teams.
 
Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis made his mark this past Sunday as he played hero in the Eagles win over the Los Angeles Rams. Davis blocked a would-be game winning field goal as time expired and then proceeded to recover the blocked kick and return it for a 61-yard touchdown, the first of his NFL career. His run made NFL history as he became the heaviest player to return a blocked kick over 50 yards for a touchdown (336 pounds). In addition to his blocked field goal, Davis added five tackles, one sack and a tackle for loss.
 
Meanwhile, Matthew Stafford continued his climb up the NFL record books for quarterbacks as he threw his 382nd touchdown pass, moving him past Matt Ryan for ninth-most all time. Despite the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Stafford threw for 196 yards and two touchdowns. Stafford currently ranks inside the top-10 league wide in passing yards, touchdowns and yards per attempt.
 
Below is a summary of how the former Bulldogs fared for their teams in Week Two:
 
Buffalo Bills 31, Miami Dolphins 21
James Cook, RB – Started at running back for the Bills, rushing 19 times for 108 yards and a touchdown, while catching all three of his targets for 10 yards. Cook has now tied the Bills franchise record for most consecutive games with a rushing touchdown, as it was his seventh game in a row finding the end zone.
Sedrick Van Pran Granger, OC – Dressed as a reserve offensive lineman for Buffalo, playing zero snaps.
Zion Logue, DT – Saw action on defense for the Bills, recording no statistics.
 
Cleveland Browns 13, Green Bay Packers 10
Quay Walker, ILB – Started at linebacker for Green Bay, totaling 14 tackles, one pass defended, and one quarterback hit.
Devonte Wyatt, DT – Started at defensive tackle for Green Bay, recording no statistics.
Javon Bullard, S – Appeared on over 30 defensive snaps for the Packers, racking up four tackles and one tackle for loss.
John FitzPatrick, TE – Saw action as a reserve tight end for Green Bay, reeling in two passes for 12 yards and a touchdown, the first of his career.
Nazir Stackhouse, DT – Appeared on defense and special teams for the Packers, recording no statistics.
Warren Brinson, DT – Was listed as inactive by Green Bay due to a coach’s decision.

Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, DL – Appeared on 28 defensive snaps for Minnesota, recording one tackle in the win.
Chaz Chambliss, OLB – Saw action on defense and special teams for the Vikings, racking up four tackles, one sack, and one tackle for loss.

Dylan Fairchild, OL – Started at offensive guard for the Bengals, playing all 56 offensive snaps.
Amarius Mims, OT – Started at offensive tackle for Cincinnati in the loss.
 
Pittsburgh Steelers 21, New England Patriots 14
Broderick Jones, OT – Started at offensive tackle for Pittsburgh, as the Steelers offensive line gave up zero sacks.
Darnell Washington, TE – Appeared on 20 offensive snaps for the Steelers, recording no statistics.
Jared Wilson, OL – Started at guard for New England, as the offense gained nearly 400 total yards.
 
Philadelphia Eagles 33, Los Angeles Rams 26
Jordan Davis, DT – Started at defensive tackle for Philadelphia, racking up five tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, and a blocked field goal that he returned for a 61-yard touchdown, the first of his career. This was also Davis’s first career blocked field goal in the NFL, and his return made him the heaviest player in NFL history to return a blocked kick over 50 yards for a touchdown (336 pounds).
Jalen Carter, DT – Started at defensive tackle for the Eagles, totaling three tackles, two quarterback hits and a blocked field goal, the second of his NFL career.
Nolan Smith Jr., OLB – Started at outside linebacker for Philadelphia, recording three tackles and one quarterback hit.
Smael Mondon Jr., ILB – Appeared exclusively on special teams for the Eagles, recording no statistics.
Kelee Ringo, CB – Saw action on special teams for Philadelphia, recording no statistics.
Azeez Ojulari, OLB – Was listed as inactive by the Eagles due to a coach’s decision.
Matthew Stafford, QB – Started at quarterback for the Rams, completing 19 of his 33 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns. Stafford’s second passing touchdown pushed him to ninth on the NFL’s all-time passing touchdown list with 382.

Arian Smith, WR – Appeared on over 50 offensive snaps for New York, catching two passes for 10 yards.

Brock Bowers, TE – Started at tight end for the Raiders, catching four of his five targets for 38 yards.
Zamir White, RB – Appeared on offense and special teams for Las Vegas, returning one kickoff for 27 yards, and rushing five times for 19 yards.
Eric Stokes, CB – Started at cornerback for the Raiders, recording one pass defended.
Chris Smith II, S – Saw action on defense and special teams for Las Vegas, recording no statistics.
 
Carolina Panthers 30, Atlanta Falcons 0
Jalon Walker, LB – Played 30 snaps on defense for Atlanta, recording three tackles.
Leonard Floyd, DE – Appeared on 27 snaps for Atlanta’s defense, totaling one quarterback hit.

Derion Kendrick, CB – Appeared on over 50 defensive snaps for Seattle, totaling four tackles, one interception and three passes defended. Kendrick is currently tied for first in the NFL with two interceptions, which is also a career high for interceptions in a season.
Xavier Truss, OL – Dressed as a reserve offensive lineman for the Saints but did not feature any action.
 
Chicago Bears 31, Dallas Cowboys 14
D’Andre Swift, RB – Started at running back for Chicago, rushing 13 times for 33 yards and catching three passes for 45 yards in the win.
George Pickens, WR – Started at wide receiver for the Cowboys, catching five of his nine targets for 68 yards and a touchdown.
 
San Francisco 49ers 16, Arizona Cardinals 15
Mykel Williams, DE – Started at defensive end for the 49ers, racking up two tackles, one tackle for loss and one quarterback hit in the win.

Andrew Thomas, OT – Started at offensive tackle for the Giants but was on a limited snap count as he returns from injury.
Malik Herring, DE – Saw action on defense for Kansas City, recording no statistics.
 
Detroit Lions 38, Baltimore Ravens 30
Tate Ratledge, OL – Started at guard for Detroit, as the offense gained over 400 total yards and gave up zero sacks in the win.
Dominic Lovett, WR – Saw action on offense and special teams for the Lions, recording no statistics.
Roquan Smith, ILB – Started at linebacker for Baltimore, racking up seven tackles, one tackle for loss and one quarterback hit. Currently, Smith ranks third in the NFL in total tackles (32) and solo tackles (22).
