Givens Captures Medalist Honors At Schooner Classic

• Givens, who opened the tournament with a school-record 63 on Saturday, fired a 1-under 69 to wrap up the 54-hole event at 9-under, 201. The 9-under effort ties the sixth-best relation-to-par tournament score in program history.
• Sunday’s round included a two-hour rain delay. When play was suspended, Givens was 1-over on the day and in third on the leaderboard. She birdied a pair of par-3s and played her five holes after play resumed at 2-under to tie Gracie McGovern of TCU for medalist honors.
• Maria Eidhagen Harrouch paced Georgia on Sunday with a 4-under 66. The Bulldogs carded an even-par 280 on the day, also counting Givens’ 69, a 72 from Maria Garcia and a 73 from Karoline Tuttle.
• Georgia finished 11th in the team field, shooting 7-over 847. Individually for Georgia in addition to Givens, Eidhagen Harrouch tied for 20th at 212, Garcia tied for 44th at 215, Morgan Smith tied for 77th at 225, Celine Brovold Sanne tied for 80th at 226 and Tuttle tied for 85th at 228.
• Givens becomes the 40th Georgia golfer to capture an individual title in program history. Those Bulldogs have combined to record 91 victories all time.

Up Next:
The Bulldogs will enjoy a three week break from action before competing in the Evie Odum Invitational on Oct. 16-18 at the Princess Anne Golf Club in Virginia Beach, Va. The tournament is the third of four events on Georgia’s fall slate.
