FLORENCE, Ala. – Alabama rallied from a first set loss to North Alabama Sunday afternoon to take the next three and grab a four-set win to close out its weekend at the Noona Kennard Volleyball Tournament.

Alabama (7-1) fell in the opening set to North Alabama (5-5), 25-17, but bounced back to win the next three by set scores of 25-22, 25-20 and 25-19. Victoria Barrett led the way on offense with 20 kills, her second 20+ kill performance in the last three matches, along with a team-leading 13 digs for her first double-double of the year. Hannah Parant also finished with a double-double, her second this season, with 38 assists and 10 digs. Lily Gervase and Ashby Daniel tied for the team lead with four blocks, a career-best total for Daniel.

FROM HEAD COACH RASHINDA REED

“I’m incredibly proud of the team. I feel like they’re working through adversity and learning lessons every single match that we play. North Alabama is a very competitive team and they definitely pushed us and made us uncomfortable, so we had to push through that. Although it was a little shaky at the start, we worked through it. UNA’s gym is really tough to play in. Their fans are right on top of you and making noise the whole match to try and get you off your game. Every opportunity where we can compete in an environment like this is great preparation for what we’ll see on the road in SEC play.”
