Volleyball Opens Weekend in Florence with Saturday Sweep over Western Carolina
FLORENCE, Ala. – Alabama volleyball opened its weekend at the Noona Kennard Volleyball Tournament with a three-set sweep Saturday afternoon over Western Carolina by set scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-19.
Alabama (6-1) held the edge in every statistical category over Western Carolina (4-4), including a .252 hitting percentage for the Crimson Tide as opposed to a .095 clip for the Catamounts. Victoria Barrett and Maddie Snider both finished with double-digit kills and Hannah Parant was just two digs shy of her second straight double-double, earning 33 assists and eight digs. Freshman Ryelle Rondo led the team with a season-high four aces, three of which came over a four-point stretch late in the second set.
