TUSCALOOSA, Ala.– Former Alabama standout Filip Planinsek will represent Slovenia in the Davis Cup September 12-13 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. 

Planinsek and the Slovenian national team will face Uruguay in the second-round match.

About the Tournament 

• It marks the second time this year that Planinsek as has aided Slovenia in the national tournament 
• The 2024 NCAA singles national champion competed in the opening round back February 1-2 
• Planinsek helped Slovenia to a 4-0 victory over Indonesia after capturing a 6-1, 6-3 singles wins 
• Planinsek will play two singles matches agaist Uruguay’s Franco Roncadelli and Joaquin Aguilar Cardozo.
