TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– A goal by Gianna Paul in the 51st minute of the game tied a 20-year-old school record and highlighted the Alabama soccer team (5-2-1, 0-1 SEC) in a 2-1 loss on Thursday to No. 17 South Carolina (7-1-1, 1-0 SEC).

Paul now has 33 career goals at Alabama, tying Libby Probst’s record from 2002-05 as the Tide’s all-time leading goal scorer.

Paul would score less than a minute after the Gamecocks found a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Mackenzie Johnson (6:31) and Katie Shea Collins (49.50).
