Walton County sets Final Budget and Millage Rate

The Walton County Board of County Commissioners met Monday afternoon in special session to set the final millage rate and budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

Chief Financial Officer Melissa Thomason stated that a millage rate of 3.575 would be required to meet the minimum requirements of the various budgets submitted by county officials and a separate millage rate of 0.441 would be needed for the North Walton Mosquito Control District, resulting in a total operating millage rate of 3.6041.

Additionally, the final budget for 2025-2026 is $328,295,088, of which $1,340,000 is for the North Walton Mosquito Control. There were no public comments.
