CHARLESTON, S.C. – The No. 10 Florida women’s golf opened up the 2025-26 season with a program record team round of 273 (-11) at the Cougar Classic on Monday as freshman Katelyn Huber (-5) is two shots off the lead.

Coming off a five-win season and SEC runner-ups, Florida continued its momentum into the season opener as the round one score of 273 set a new program round record by score. The previous was 274 in 2019 at the Stanford Intercollegiate.

The team’s 11-under round one also earned a four-shot lead into the second set of 18-holes. Three Gators shot a 67 (-4) in the season’s first round. UF enters tomorrow’s final round eight shots back of leader Tennessee, who had its own 11-under in round two. The final round is slate for an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start at Yeamans Hall Club.

In her first collegiate round, Katelyn Huber couldn’t have asked for a better performance. The Gainesville native logged a bogey-free 67 (-4). Fellow newcomer and graduate transfer, Megan Propeck also had a 67 (-4) in the opening round, as she made a birdie on the first hole of the season. Florida carded three rounds of 67 (-4) as Addison Klonowski had the third in the opening round.

The true freshman, Huber, added another under par round in her collegiate debut with a 70 (-1). Across her 36-holes today, she made 15 pars, eight birdies and only three bogeys. Her first bogey didn’t come until her 25th hole. She is tied for 8th and two shots off the individual lead.

Both Inès Archer and Paula Francisco each improved from their first rounds as the junior duo posted 71s (E) in the second round. Archer is tied for T40 at +1 and Francisco T45 at +2.

Klonowski and Propeck both sit in the top-20 with Klonowski 3-under tied for 15th and Propeck 2-under tied for 20th.
