Fullbrook and Gazzoli Lead Seminoles At Folds of Honor Collegiate
Baylor, with two players in the top 10 of the individual standings, leads the team standings after the first round of play. The Bears hold a one stroke lead of Texas A&M and a three stroke lead over North Carolina. Anastasia Hekkonen of Kentucky holds the first round individual lead as she carded a six under score of 66. She is five strokes ahead of Baylor’s Amelia Wan.
“The first round of the year was a little rough,” said Seminole head coach Amy Bond. “However, there is a lot to learn from today. We have to continue to get better each day, learn from every round, and play to improve.”
Florida State begins play in the second round just four strokes outside of fifth place in the team standings and just six strokes out of third place.
Fullbrook carded two birdies and 13 more holes scored at par to finish at 74. She was one under par on her back nine as she completed a clean card on her final nine holes.
Gazzoli carded a birdie on her first hole of the tournament and closed with 14 holes scored at par. She carded six consecutive and five consecutive birdies on two occasions during the round.
Florida State opened its season with two sophomores (Fullbrook and Gazzoli) and three newcomers (sophomore Elin Pudas Remler, along with freshmen Haruhi Nakatani and Haley Davis) in its lineup. Fullbrook and Gazzoli both played in Florida State’s lineup on its 2025 ACC Championship team. The Seminoles’ 2025 ACC Championship team won the NCAA Lexington Regional championship and finished in a program-best third place in the NCAA Championship Finals.
The Seminoles will play in the afternoon wave of the tournament on Tuesday with their tee times beginning at 1:15 p.m.
