GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – The No. 16/18 Florida State women’s golf team begins play on Monday in the Fourth Annual Folds of Honor Collegiate at the American Dunes Golf Club. Head coach Amy Bond and her Seminoles open their 2025-26 season at the prestigious event for the second consecutive year following a runner-up finish in the event a year ago.

The Folds of Honor Collegiate served as a significant starting point for Bond and her Seminoles who finished in a program-best third place at the 2025 NCAA Championship Finals. The 16th year head coach is hoping for the same type of start starting Monday in the three-day, 72 hole competition which includes six teams (including the Seminoles) ranked in the top 30 of the Golfweek national rankings.

The Seminoles open the 2025-26 season ranked No. 16 in the Mizuno WGCA Coaches poll and No. 18 the  Golfweek poll.

Florida State’s lineup at the Folds of Honor will consist of three sophomores (Sophia Fullbrook, Elin Pudas Remler, and Alexandra Gazzoli) and two freshmen (Haley Davis and Haruhi Nakatani). Three of the five players in the Seminoles’ lineup (Pudas Remler, Davis and Nakatani) will make their Florida State debuts.

“We have a very young team with our oldest and most experienced players being sophomores,” said Bond. “This group is very talented. We are looking for big things to come as each player will play a vital role in our success.”

Florida State is led by Fullbrook, a seasoned veteran who played in Florida State’s lineup in each of its 11 events during her freshman season. She helped lead England to the team championship at the R&A Home Internationals, helped the Great Britain and Ireland team to the Vagliano Trophy championship, and finished in a tie for 11th place in the European Ladies Amateur Championship during the summer of 2025.

Fullbrook is excited to start her second collegiate season in the Folds of Honor.

“I feel pretty good,” said Fullbrook before the Seminoles departed for Michigan. “We have been quite busy this week qualifying, and we can’t wait to the get the season started.”

Fullbrook first appearance in the 2024 Folds of Honor served as her Seminole debut. She earned a personal best tied for sixth finish in the individual standings with a one over par score of 217 (73-69-75).

“The Folds of Honor was my first career event and ranks as one of the fondest memories of my freshman year,” said Fullbrook. “It was also my highest placing event. The Folds of Honor is a really well-run event and everyone enjoyed their time. I remember the event as being a really fun start to my college career.”

The mission of the Folds of Honor is significant and resonates among all the players who have participated in the event since 2007.

The Folds of Honor Foundation supports scholarships for the children and spouses of America’s fallen or disabled service members. Since its inception in 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded nearly 62,000 scholarships totaling over $290 million in all 50 states. It was founded by Lt Col Dan Rooney, the only-ever F-16 fighter pilot (with three combat tours in Iraq) and PGA Professional.

“You can really see passion that goes into assembling this tournament,” said Fullbrook. “It’s an amazing event. The course is designed to commemorate the fallen soldiers. You can sincerely feel the passion that is put into this event everywhere you go on the course. It’s an amazing event.”

Florida State is one of 12 women’s teams in the tournament, joining Arizona, Baylor, Delaware State, Findlay, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, Navy, North Carolina, Ohio State and Texas A&M.
