Volleyball Falls to Cincinnati, 3-0, Saturday in Chattanooga
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Alabama volleyball took its first loss of the 2025 season Saturday afternoon, falling in three sets to Cincinnati to close out the Crimson Tide’s weekend at the Chattanooga Classic.
Alabama (4-1) fought from down 11-4 to Cincinnati (3-2) in set one to tie things up at 15-15. The score was knotted up four more times before a kill from Victoria Barrett tied it up for a fifth time at 22-22. The Bearcats ultimately held on to take the opener, 25-23. Cincinnati rallied from an early deficit to take a close second set, 25-21, and a 2-0 match lead before a back-and-forth third went past the 25-point mark with the Bearcats claiming the 30-28 win to complete the match victory.
NOTES
- Victoria Barrett led the team with 15 kills, giving her 1,486 for her career as she is now 14 away from 1,500
- Barrett has 10+ kills in four of the Tide’s five matches this season
- For their efforts over the weekend, Barrett and Sophie Agee were named to the Chattanooga Classic All-Tournament Team
