SEATTLE – The No. 4 Florida men’s golf team completed the opening day of the 2025-26 season opener at the Sahalee Players Championship on Saturday. The Gators are in 10th as junior Jack Turner is tied for 6th after a round two of 67 (-5) and trails two shots off the individual lead.

UF improved from its opening round of 306 (+18) with a 289 (+1) led by Turner’s 32nd career under par round. He made the turn 3-under in round two highlighted by the first eagle of the season on par-4 17th (417 yards). He closed his final ten holes bogey-free and 3-under as he only carded a single bogey in his second set of 18-holes. His 67 was a nine-shot improvement from his first round (76, +4) as he is 1-under through 36-holes. The round also ranked the second-lowest in the field.

Making his collegiate debut and playing as an individual, Josh Bai logged Florida’s second under par round with a 71 (-1) behind two birdies in his last four holes. The true freshman is tied for 40th at +6.

Senior Matthew Kress also bounced back from his first round (77, +5) with an even-par 72 and only had one bogey, which he erased with a birdie on par-4 fourth. He is tied for 34th at +5.
