A Fall Update On The Bulldogs In Professional Baseball

ATHENS, GA – Here is the latest update on the former Georgia Bulldogs playing professional baseball in 2025.
 
MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL (MLB)

Currently, the Bulldogs at the MLB level include infielder Kyle Farmer (Colorado Rockies) and pitcher Emerson Hancock (Seattle Mariners). 

Farmer, an eighth-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2013, has made starts at every infield spot plus as the designated hitter for Colorado this year. The 35-year-old native of Atlanta has appeared in 89 games and posted a .228 batting average with 14 doubles, seven home runs and 28 RBI. The Rockies are 40-101. The veteran in the clubhouse, Farmer helped the team win 11 games in August which marked the most in a month this year.

 

Hancock, a first-round pick of the Seattle Mariners in 2020, has seen action in the starting rotation but now is being used as a reliever. With Seattle in 2025, he is 3-5 with a 5.49 ERA in 17 appearances including 15 starts. During stints at Triple-A with the Tacoma Rainiers, the 26-year-old went 1-2 with a 5.24 ERA in 11 games including nine starts. He was touching 99 miles per hour (mph) as a reliever in Tacoma and then made his first appearances as a reliever with the Mariners last Monday and hit 98.1 mph. He struck out two in that outing but allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits.

TRIPLE-A

 

Jonathan Cannon, a third-round draft pick of the White Sox in 2022, has spent time in Chicago’s starting rotation and as a reliever. Currently, he is pitching for Triple-A Charlotte. This season with the White Sox, the 25-year-old right-hander owns a 4-9 mark and 5.67 ERA in 20 appearances including 17 starts. The White Sox are 54-88. In five starts for Charlotte, he is 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA, rallying 17 strikeouts in 23.1 innings. 

Will Childers, a member of the Milwaukee Brewers organization, was promoted to Triple-A Nashville on July 4. A former 30th-round pick of Arizona in 2019, the 24-year-old right-hander is a combined 5-1 with a 3.34 ERA and seven saves in 49 relief appearances for Double-A Biloxi and the Sounds in Music City. In 59.1 innings, he has tallied 63 strikeouts.

Dylan Ross, a 13th-round pick of the New York Mets in 2022, made his professional debut at the end of last season after recovering from elbow surgery. After beginning the year in Brooklyn, the 6-5, 251-pound right-hander was promoted to Double-A Binghamton (N.Y.) in May and then moved up to Triple-A Syracuse in mid-June. Overall, the 24-year-old is 2-0 with a 2.39 ERA and six saves in 45 relief appearances across three levels this season. In 49 innings, he has amassed 75 strikeouts. For Syracuse, he is 0-0 with a 2.00 ERA and two saves in 24 games.

 

Infielder Aaron Schunk has spent time with the Colorado Rockies this season. However, he is now playing for Triple-A Albuquerque, N.M. A second-round draft pick of Colorado in 2019, he has played 16 games with the Rockies in 2025, seeing action at second base, third base and shortstop. In 32 at bats, he hit .188. Last year, he made his MLB debut and wound up playing in 39 games and posting a .234 batting average with two home runs and seven RBI. Currently, the 28-year-old is batting .279 with 11 doubles, seven triples, nine home runs and 52 RBI in 80 games with the Isotopes.

Ryan Webb is in his fourth season in the Cleveland Guardians organization after being a fourth-round pick in 2021. Now a member of the Columbus Clippers, the 26-year-old left-hander is 5-7 with a 4.70 ERA in 25 games including 18 starts. He has tallied 98 strikeouts in 103.1 innings. 

Righthander Cole Wilcox is in his fourth season of professional baseball after being a third-round pick of the San Diego Padres in 2020. He is now in the Tampa Bay Rays system, and since August, he has been in Triple-A with the Durham Bulls. For the year, the 26-year-old right-hander is 1-5 with a 3.81 ERA and three saves in 37 appearances. 

In 54.1 innings, he has posted 60 strikeouts.

 

DOUBLE-A

A first-round pick of the Colorado Rockies in 2024, infielder/outfielder Charlie Condon was promoted to Double-A Hartford in July.  The 22-year-old has recovered from a broken hand and combined to post a .283 batting average with 13 home runs and 56 RBI in 92 games across three affiliates this year. Ten of his 13 home runs plus three triples have come with Hartford this year. Also, he was selected to represent the Rockies in the MLB All-Star Futures Game during All-Star weekend in Atlanta this past summer.

 

Jaden Woods is in his third professional campaign and a member of the Altoona Curve, the Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Currently, the 23-year-old left-hander owns a 5-4 record, appearing in 41 games in relief. In 57.1 innings, he has 61 strikeouts.

 

SINGLE-A

A ninth-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Angels in 2025, Slate Alford is playing for the Inland Empire 66ers in San Bernardino, Calif. The 6-3, 212-pound infielder was drafted as a third baseman. The 22-year-old is batting .256 with five doubles, one triple, two home runs and 17 RBI in 26 games. Robbie Burnett, who earned All-America as well as Academic All-America honors last season, signed a free agent deal with the New York Yankees organization this past July. He is playing for the Hudson Valley Renegades, and through 13 games, the 22-year-old outfielder is batting .176 with a home run, six walks and three RBI. Pitcher Davis Chastain, a 14th-round pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2025, is off to a solid start with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. The 21-year-old right-hander is 1-1 with a 2.70 ERA in five relief appearances. In 6.2 innings, he has nine strikeouts and only one walk.

 

A sixth-round draft pick of the New York Mets in 2024, Corey Collins is playing first base for the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate. The 6-3, 236-pound first baseman is batting a combined .168 with five doubles, two triples, four home runs and 24 RBI in 69 games across a pair of affiliates. In Brooklyn, the 23-year-old owns a .183 batting average with two triples, two home run and 15 RBI in 41 games.

Pitcher Alton Davis II is teammates again with infielder Slate Alford after being assigned to the Inland Empire 66ers. An 11th round pick of the Los Angeles Angels this past July, the 21-year-old left-hander is 1-0 with a 2.84 ERA in six appearances. In 6.1 innings he has eight strikeouts with six walks.

 

Catcher Fernando Gonzalez, a 20th-round pick of the San Francisco Giants in 2024, made his professional debut with the San Jose Giants this season. Due to injuries, the 23-year-old was limited to 27 games and posted a .230 batting average with five doubles, three home runs and eight RBI. On August 4, he was placed on the full season injured list.

 

Pitcher Zach Harris, an 11th-round pick of the Colorado Rockies in 2025, has made his professional debut with the Fresno Grizzlies. The 21-year-old right-hander has made two relief appearances covering two innings. He is 0-0 with a 9.00 ERA, two strikeouts and a walk.

 

Chandler Marsh signed with the New York Mets as an undrafted free agent in 2024. The 22-year-old right-hander went a combined 4-1 with a 2.57 ERA and three saves in 33 appearances for a pair of Mets affiliates. On July 31, 2025, he was part of a trade with the Baltimore Orioles as the Mets received centerfielder Cedric Mullins for Marsh and pitchers Raimon Gomez and Anthony Nunez. Marsh was assigned to the Aberdeen IronBirds, the High-A affiliate of Baltimore. He is 0-0 with a 1.80 ERA in nine games covering 10 innings to go with 11 strikeouts.

 

Pitcher Tyler McLoughlin made his professional debut recently. A 10th-round pick of the New York Mets this past July, he has been assigned to the St. Lucie Mets. The 23-year-old right-hander has made two appearances including one start. He is 0-0 with a 7.71 ERA in 2.1 innings with two walks and four strikeouts.

Christian Mracna signed with the Toronto Blue Jays as an undrafted free agent last year. Currently, the 25-year-old right-hander is on the injured list for the season after seeing limited action with the Dunedin Blue Jays. He was 0-1 with a 12.15 ERA and one save in nine appearances covering 6.2 innings with six strikeouts.

 

Liam Sullivan has returned to action after having his 2024 season end due to surgery. A 13th-round draft pick of the Washington Nationals in 2023, the 6-6, 255-pound left-hander is back on track. Across a couple of affiliates, he is a combined 1-3 with a 2.49 ERA in 15 games including 14 starts with several on pitch counts. In 50.2 innings, the 23-year-old has tallied 64 strikeouts. Currently, he is pitching for the Fredericksburg Nationals where he is 1-2 with a 3.23 ERA in seven starts covering 30.2 innings. Also, he has 36 strikeouts and just seven walks.

 

The rest of the 2025 Bulldog draft class who have signed professional contracts have yet to make their official debut. This group includes pitchers JT Quinn (Baltimore, 2nd round), Brian Curley (Arizona, 3rd round), Leighton Finley (Boston, 6th round), Kolten Smith (Minnesota, 12th round) and Matthew Hoskins (Kansas City, 12th round).). All-America infielder Ryland Zaborowski, who captured the 2025 Southeastern Conference batting title with a .370 average, signed a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Angels. He is recovering from an elbow injury and on the 60-day injured list. Pitcher Eric Hammond, who signed as a free agent with the Minnesota Twins this past July, has not made his debut either.

 

Also, this past summer, catcher Henry Hunter signed with the Florence Y’alls in Kentucky, an independent professional team in the Frontier League. In 21 games, he batted .260 with seven doubles and eight RBI. In the final game of the season, Hunter provided a game-tying double in the sixth inning and a walk-off sacrifice fly in the ninth against Schaumburg. Florence finished 45-53.

 

On a related Bulldog baseball note, former Major Leaguer Zac Kristofak, who has recovered from arm surgery, is pitching in the Mexican League for Piratas de Campeche. The 27-year-old right-hander made his MLB debut with the Los Angeles Angels in 2024. This year, he is 1-0 with a 4.05 ERA in 14 relief appearances covering 13.1 innings.
