Georgia Blanks Troy to Round Out Opening Weekend
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of Georgia volleyball team recorded its second sweep of opening weekend, this time of the Troy Trojans on Saturday, 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-19).

- Junior Bianna Muoneke once again led the Bulldogs’ offense, recording her second double-digit kill match of the weekend, finishing with 12. She hit .500 in Saturday’s match with five digs and two blocks.
- The Bulldogs’ defense put up 13 blocks, tied for fourth-most all-time in a three-set match. Redshirt-junior Kendal Kemp led the defensive charge at the net with seven blocks.
- Junior setter Kaiya Tyson, redshirt-sophomore libero Makena Lim, and redshirt-junior Ana Julia Bleeker co-led the team with seven digs each.
- Lim served up five aces against the Trojans. That number ties for fourth-most all-time in a three-set match at Georgia and the most in three sets since Sept. 1, 2018 (Anna Kate Karstens).
- Several Bulldogs made either collegiate or Georgia debuts on Saturday. Freshman Olivia Borgman started the match and concluded with seven kills, two digs, and three blocks. Fellow freshmen Emma Bryson (one block) and Alex Richter (one kill) also made their collegiate debuts. Senior transfer Adriana Rhoda made her Georgia debut and put up a pair of blocks.

Georgia opens the 2025 home schedule next week, hosting the Classic City Clash. Alabama State, Texas Tech, and Duke will travel to Athens for the six-match round-robin tournament, which begins Wednesday at 6 p.m. when Duke takes on Texas Tech. The Bulldogs open tournament action on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. against Alabama State.
