FSU Travels to RV Kansas for First Road Game

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Following a week off, the No. 6 Florida State soccer team takes to the road for the first time in 2025 with a trip to RV Kansas on Thursday, August 28.
 
Kickoff at Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence, Kansas, is at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT.

Florida State is 2-0-0 on the season after home victories over Florida and FIU on August 14 and 17, respectively, to begin the campaign. Kansas is 3-0-1 with a 1-0-1 second weekend from August 21-24.
 
The Seminoles have scored seven goals with seven assists in 2025, on  39 shots and 14 shots on goal. FSU has allowed seven shots, three on target, with three saves while recording clean sheets in both contests.
 
Senior defender Heather Gilchrist, redshirt sophomore midfielder Peyton Nourse and sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson have all scored two goals this season, while senior midfielder/forward Enasia Colon has a team-best two assists. Hudson has a team-best nine shots and four shots on target. In goal, redshirt sophomore Addie Todd registered three saves in the opening-night shutout and freshmen goalkeepers Evan O’Steen and Kate Ockene combined for the clean sheet in the season’s second game.
 
Two streaks were extended with last Sunday’s win, both to 30 consecutive games. In regular-season non-conference play, Florida State is 27-0-3 since early in the 2019 season, and the Seminoles are 28-0-2 overall at home since the middle of the 2022 campaign.
 
SERIES HISTORY VS. KANSAS
Florida State is 1-1-0 all-time against Kansas, with a 4-1 victory in Tallahassee in 2001 and a 3-0 loss in Lawrence in 2003. The Seminoles face a Big 12 team for the first time since 2023, when then-No. 6 FSU defeated No. 9 TCU, 2-0 in Fort Worth, Texas.
 
SCOUTING THE JAYHAWKS
Kansas is 3-0-1 in 2025 and 3-0-0 at home. The Jayhawks opened the campaign with a 5-2 win over Missouri State before a 1-0 triumph over South Dakota State. A 3-2 home win over Utah Valley began the second weekend before a goalless draw at Utah State on August 24. KU will face its first ranked foe and first power conference opponent when it hosts FSU.
 
LAST TIME OUT: SECOND CONSECUTIVE SHUTOUT
Florida State beat FIU 2-0 on August 17 in Tallahassee. Concluding the opening weekend of play with their second shutout in as many games, the Seminoles benefited from goals by Hudson and Nourse, both their second scores of the young campaign.
 
FSU held the Panthers, who made their season debut in the game, without a shot. The home side registered 13 shots, five on goal, and had a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks. A total of 22 players saw action for the Garnet and Gold.
 
Florida State improved to 7-0-0 all-time against FIU. The last three games in the series have been clean sheets.

FSU comes back to the Seminole Soccer Complex on Thursday, September 4, against Stetson at 7 p.m. ET. It is Military Appreciation Night as Florida State plays its penultimate non-conference game.
