Oak and Oconee Street Construction Impacts Football Gameday Traffic
Fans who attend Georgia home football games this fall could be impacted by ongoing construction on the Oak/Oconee Street bridge, which borders UGA’s Athens campus to the east. The project by the Georgia Department of Transportation is expected to continue through December 2026.
Those traveling to the games via Oak/Oconee Streets will experience only one lane for inbound traffic to Sanford Stadium. After the games, both lanes of traffic will be directed east, away from campus and downtown.
Please plan accordingly for anticipated delays.
