SERIES HISTORY VS. FIU
Florida State boasts a 6-0-0 record all-time against FIU, with a 4-0 mark at home and a 2-0 record on the road. The series began with a 1-0, double-overtime win at home in 1998, which started a stretch of four consecutive years where the two teams squared off, twice in Tallahassee and twice in Miami. The last two meetings have come at FSU, with a 1-0 win in 2004 before a 5-0 victory in 2008, which was the biggest win for the Seminoles in series. Four of the six games have been shutouts, the first two, 1-0 and 3-0, and the last two, 1-0 and 5-0.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
FIU will make its season debut Sunday night at the Seminole Soccer Complex. The Panthers are coming off a C-USA regular-season and tournament titles in 2024, where they earned an NCAA Tournament berth for the third time in team history. FIU went 13-5-2 overall and 6-1-2 in league play a year ago. Mat Dunn is in his first season as head coach in Miami.

LAST TIME OUT: RIVALRY SHUTOUT WIN
The Seminoles began the season with a 5-0 win over Florida on August 14 in Tallahassee in a contest that featured two weather delays. The Seminoles tied for their biggest win in the rivalry and have won eight in a row against the Gators, outscoring them 24-3 during that stretch. Florida State improves to 18-13-0 in the all-time series with clean sheets in four consecutive games and six of the last eight.

Gilchrist scored the game’s first two goals for her first career brace and game-winning goal, after entering the season with one career score. Hudson made it 3-0 just before halftime. In the second half, junior midfielder Yuna McCormack tallied her first goal as a Seminole while redshirt sophomore midfielder Peyton Nourse found the back of the net late for the final score, her first since 2023.

Colon recorded a pair of assists in the triumph and joined McCormack as one of nine players to make their Seminole debuts in the win. Todd had three saves to earn the shutout.
