Dudley and Gilchrist Selected to Preseason All-ACC Team
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Junior forward Jordynn Dudley and senior defender Heather Gilchrist of the Florida State soccer team have been recognized on the 2025 Preseason All-ACC Team, the conference announced on Thursday.
Dudley and Gilchrist are two of 14 players selected to the league’s preseason team. Both Dudley and Gilchrist are named to the Preseason All-ACC squad for the second year in a row.
Additionally, in a vote among the league’s 17 head coaches, FSU was selected third in the Preseason Coaches Poll. The Seminoles collected 225 points and four first-place votes, with North Carolina (246 points, 10 first-place votes) and Notre Dame (229, 2) finishing first and second in the preseason poll. Duke was fourth with 208 points, as the top four spots in the ACC poll also match the top four places in the national coaches preseason top-25.
From Milton, Georgia, Dudley was a Hermann Trophy Semifinalist, Second Team All-American and All-ACC First Team awardee in 2024. She played in 15 games with 13 starts and led the team with 11 assists, was tied for second with nine goals and was second with 29 points on 46 shots, 22 on goal. Two of Dudley’s goals were game winners. She notched a goal and an assist on four occasions and netted two goals twice, with two goals and an assist to beat No. 4 North Carolina on October 25 and two goals and two assists in an NCAA Tournament win over Samford on November 15.
An All-America Fourth Team and All-ACC Third Team honoree in 2024, Gilchrist played in 15 games with 14 starts last season. In 1,838 minutes, the Boulder, Colorado native scored one goal with one assist on three shots, two on goal. Gilchrist helped the Seminoles to seven shutouts and played a full game on 12 occasions. Her first career goal came in a win over Pitt on October 20, and the assist was in an August 18 victory over North Florida.
The 2025 FSU season unofficially begins with an exhibition matchup against Alabama on Friday August 8, at 6 p.m. ET. The season will kick off against in-state rival Florida at home on Thursday, August 14, at 7 p.m. Both of those games, and the team’s first three overall, will be held at home at the Seminole Soccer Complex.
