Slaughter Tabbed to the 2025 Sporting News Preseason All-America First Team
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Senior offensive lineman Jake Slaughter has been named to the 2025 Sporting News preseason All-America First Team. This is the second publication to name Slaughter as a member of the first team after being named to the All-SEC first team following the SEC Media Days on July 18, 2025.
Slaughter is coming off a stellar season for the Gators by leading the offensive line as their starting center in all 13 games for the 2024 season. Slaughter led the offensive line with 800 snaps, was ranked fifth nationally for centers with an offense grade of 81.1 and was ranked seventh in the country for a run block grade of 79.0.
Slaughter is one of seven Gators from his signing class to return for his fifth year, looking to help improve the team’s chances of going farther into this upcoming season.
Along with being named to both the Sporting News preseason All-America First Team and the SEC Media preseason All-SEC First Team, Slaughter has also been named to the 2025 Outland Trophy preseason watch list.
