TALLAHASSEE – Florida State will face Houston in the Houston Hoops Showdown on December 6, 2025, at the Toyota Center in Houston. The game between the Seminoles and the Cougars marks the sixth meeting between the two teams – and first since January 5, 1974 — when the Cougars defeated the Seminoles by a 79-74 score at the Hofheinz Pavilion in Houston in the Bluebonnet Tournament.

The time and television designation for the game will be announced a later time.

Tickets for the Houston Hoops Showdown will on sale Sept. 17, with a one-day presale set for Sept. 16. Fans can sign up to receive event news and be eligible for presale access by visiting www.toyotacenter.com/hoops-showdown.

The Cougars are coached by Kelvin Sampson who is in his 12^th season as Houston’s head coach. He has never coached against Florida State.

First-year Seminole head coach Luke Loucks has already announced regular season games at Florida (Nov. 11), against Georgia in the ACC/SEC Challenge (Dec. 2), against UMass in the Orange Bowl Classic (Dec. 13) and at Dayton (Dec. 16).
