Ryan Williams Named to Walter Camp Award Watch List
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama’s Ryan Williams has been selected to the 2025 Walter Camp Award Watch List, announced today by the Walter Camp Foundation.
Williams is among 45 total student-athletes from around the country named to the preseason watch list recognizing college football’s top player. The watch list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists in early November before the three finalists are announced in early December. The 2025 Walter Camp Player of the Year recipient will be recognized on ESPN’s College Football Awards Show on Dec. 12.
Alabama’s most recent winner came in 2020 when DeVonta Smith added the Walter Camp to his collection of postseason hardware. Smith joined Tua Tagovailoa (2018) and Derrick Henry (2015) as the Crimson Tide’s three recipients of the award.

Wide Receiver, Sophomore
- An electrifying talent on the perimeter for the Crimson Tide
- Received first team All-Southeastern Conference honors and Freshman All-SEC accolades from the league coaches in 2024
- Led Alabama in receiving yards (865) and receiving touchdowns (8) while finishing second in receptions (48) as a freshman
- His eight receiving touchdowns were the second-most in the SEC and tied for second-most among freshman wideouts in Division I
- Also contributed 48 rushing yards on four attempts with two touchdowns
- Added 120 punt return yards on 10 attempts as well as two kickoff returns for a combined 12 yards
