A Fort Walton Beach area man wanted for questioning in connection with a battery on a 78-year old female barricaded himself inside his Ed Street home Sunday and threatened to shoot responding deputies.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Units, Special Response Team and Crisis Negotiations Unit were called out to try to convince 61-year old Roger Ismond to come out of his home, but Ismond refused.

The SRT Unit ultimately took Ismond into custody several hours later, around 11:15 p.m.

He is charged with resisting an officer without violence and domestic violence battery on a victim over the age of 65.
