Belcher, Padelski Named to U.S. U-18 Women’s National Team Training Camp
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama’s Olivia Belcher and Maddie Padelski have been called up to the U.S. U-18 National Team Training Camp, the United States soccer organization announced Tuesday. The camp will host players from both the U-18 and U-19 age groups and will run from June 24-July 1 in Fayetteville, Ga.
Players from both the U-18 and U-19 training camps will be intermixed and divided into two teams as all players at the joint camp are eligible for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Alabama and North Carolina are the lone collegiate programs to have two players named to the U-18 women’s national team camp roster. Additionally, Padelski is one of seven players that earned a bronze medal with the United States at the 2024 U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Olivia Belcher, U-18 National Team Training Camp
- Will make her third appearance at a U.S. Youth National Team training camp
- Competed in the USL Super League with Dallas Trinity FC
- A two-time Elite Club National League (ECNL) Girls Texas first team all-conference honoree (2022, 2023) and received an invite to the 2022 ECNL National Training Camp and the 2022 ECNL Houston National Selection Game
- Named a 5A high school state finalist, a first team all-state selection and a University Interscholastic League (UIL) State All-Tournament honoree in 2024
- Will make her collegiate debut in the fall with the Crimson Tide
Maddie Padelski, U-18 National Team Training Camp
- Scored two goals for the United States, helping the U-17 team to a bronze medal at the 2024 FIFA World Cup, the countries best finish since 2008 and its second-ever medal at the U-17 World Cup
- Despite being the youngest player in NCAA Division I soccer last season, scored two goals and two assists for six points
- Ranked fifth on the team in points
- Competed in 14 games for the Tide, missing six for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in October of 2024
- Earned her ninth national team camp invite after being called up to the U.S. Youth National Team U-16 Domestic Training Camp three times and to the U-17 training camp five times
