The time of the game and the television designation will be announced at a later date.
Florida State’s game against Dayton marks the first game between the two teams since December 30, 1981, and the seventh game in the series which began in 1969. The series Is tied at three wins each as the Seminoles won three of the first four games played during the series.
In renewing the series for the first time since the teams met in the Dayton Invitational in 1981, the Seminoles will travel to play at Dayton for the third consecutive game. Florida State and Dayton met in the Dayton Invitational in 1978 and 1981. In the last meeting between the two teams in 1981, Mitchell Wiggins scored 26 and Michael Johnson added 22 in a 93-79 Dayton victory.
“We are really excited to have Dayton on our schedule for the next two seasons,” said Seminole head coach Luke Loucks. “The addition of the Flyers to our schedule allows us to play a highly respected program in their gym which is always one of the toughest places to play in college basketball. Their fans know the game of basketball and are very passionate about their team. Playing Dayton at the UD Arena will be a great environment for our team to play in as we continue to get our players used to playing in tough environments. I love this series, and I am looking forward to traveling to play at Dayton in December.
“Playing Dayton, who was a top-50 team last season, will challenge our team and help prepare us to play in the NCAA Tournament,” said Loucks. “We are going to schedule opponents who will help us become better as a team and this is one of those opponents.”
Men’s Basketball season tickets for the 2025-26 season will be available for renewal/purchase in the coming weeks on Seminoles.com or by calling the ticket office at 1-888-FSU-NOLE.
