Weaver Wins Academic All-District – Florida State University
TALLAHASSEE– Florida State student-athlete Tyler Weaver, was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for at-large sports. The program recognizes student-athletes for combined performance in competition and in the classroom.
To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 grade point average or higher. Weaver, who finished six tournaments in the top 10 as a sophomore is majoring in sport management.
The Newmarket, England native finished 2024-25 with six top 10 finishes, including a victory at the 2025 Cabo Collegiate. He averaged a 71.31 stroke average, while shooting a round low of 66, also at the Cabo Collegiate.
Weaver was the runner-up at the 2025 ACC Championship in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He also finished the season 2-1 in match play, while contributing six top 10 finishes.
Following his sophomore season, Weaver was a 2025 All-ACC selection after captures All-America honorable mention from the Golf Coaches Association of America and Golfweek.
Weaver qualified for the 125th U.S Open where he finished 9-over, 149, placing fourth among amateurs.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Men’s At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
NCAA and NAIA Men’s At-Large Academic All-America® First-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
