Men’s Golf Adds Standout Transfer Luke Powell
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama men’s golf head coach Jay Seawell announced that Luke Powell, who was an all-conference performer during his time at UCLA, has signed to continue his playing career with the Crimson Tide.
Powell burst onto the collegiate golfing season as a true freshman in 2023-24, earning a spot on the PAC-12 All-Freshman team while also earning All-PAC-12 Second Team honors. Additionally, he was selected as a Golf Coaches Association of America All-Region performer that same year.
Across his two seasons with the Bruins, Powell averaged 72.44 strokes per round while collecting four top 10 and six top 20 results across his 22 career tournaments played.
Jay Seawell on Luke:
“We are thrilled to add what we think is another valuable piece to our team with the addition of Luke. He wants to win championships, and his ideals match up with those of our program, so we feel it is a perfect fit. We had a chance to watch Luke first-hand when he outdueled Nick Dunlap to win the Hamptons Intercollegiate, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him join our program.”
