ATHENS, Ga. – French international Raphael Vaksmann has signed with Georgia for the 2025-26 season, head coach Jamie Hunt announced on Monday afternoon.

“Raph is an extremely motivated and hard-working player with the highest ambitions possible,” said Hunt. “He has a very bright future, and we look forward to seeing him compete for us in the Red and Black and helping him develop his game. He is exactly the kind of player we want joining our program.”

Vaksmann, out of Paris, France, arrives in Athens with a career-high ITF juniors ranking of 167 and an ATP-best singles ranking of 1,414. He currently holds a 12.99 Universal Tennis Rating. The French international competed as a junior at Roland-Garros in 2024, competing in both the boys’ singles and doubles draws.

Recently, at M25 Saint Dizier, Vaksmann defeated ATP No. 406 Matthew Dellavadova in the tournament’s round of 32.

Vaksmann joins fellow incoming freshmen Noah Johnston and Gus Almeida in the 2025 class that placed No. 3 in the Tennis Recruiting Network’s rankings. Also arriving in Athens this fall are transfers Derrick Chen, Santiago Giamichelle and Will Jansen.
