Search Update for 10-Year-Old Trinity Eslinger
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has not yet located 10-year-old Trinity Eslinger. An extensive search effort took place throughout the morning and into the afternoon today in the area of the Destin East Pass, where Trinity was last seen in the water last night between O’Steen Beach and the L Jetties in Destin.
The Sheriff’s Office deployed two vessels and ten divers, who conducted a total of 24 dives in an effort to locate Trinity. A drone unit was utilized, Beach Patrol units searched the shorelines, and Community Resource Deputies were deployed to help fill operational gaps in the search.
We are deeply grateful to our public safety partners who joined us in today’s effort, including three vessels from Eglin Air Force Base, one vessel from Destin Fire with dive support from North Bay Fire, and multiple vessels with divers—as well as a helicopter—from Florida Fish and Wildlife, all working in close coordination with OCSO personnel.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Destin Chamber of Commerce and Brotula’s Seafood House for their generous support in assisting with the needs of our first responders.
Search operations will continue tomorrow. Our hearts are with Trinity’s family, and we join the community in praying for Trinity and her family as well as for strength during this incredibly difficult time.
