Alabama Baseball Earns Four Spots on ABCA/Rawlings All-Southeast Region Team

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama’s Justin Lebron, Carson Ozmer, Kade Snell and Riley Quick were selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Southeast Region team, the organization announced Tuesday.

Lebron, Ozmer and Snell received first team distinction while Quick was honored as a second-teamer. The foursome helps make up a collection of 10 ABCA/Rawlings All-Region honors for Alabama over the last five seasons. The Tide’s four ABCA/Rawlings All-Region selections are the most since Alabama also produced honorees in 2002.

Justin Lebron

Shortstop, First Team

  • Started all 59 games at shortstop as a sophomore
  • Garnered Second Team All-SEC honors as well as his second consecutive SEC All-Defensive Team accolade from the conference coaches
  • Recognized as a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award
  • Batted .316 (73-for-231) with 18 doubles, one triple and 18 homers to go with 72 RBI, 60 runs, 35 walks, 10 hit-by-pitch and 17 stolen bases
  • His 72 RBI led all SEC players, while his 18 home runs were 10th in the conference

Carson Ozmer

Relief Pitcher, First Team

  • A dependable reliever who operated as the closer for the Crimson Tide
  • Highlighted as a First Team All-SEC selection
  • Appeared in a team-high 29 games, converting a program record 17 saves
  • His 17 saves are the most by any player in Division I
  • Managed a 3.29 ERA (14 ER/38.1 IP) in his 29 appearances
  • Produced 22 scoreless appearances in 29 games
  • Held opponents to a .193 batting average (26-for-135), the second-lowest mark among Tide pitchers
  • Contributed 48 strikeouts in 38.1 IP, equating to an 11.3 strikeouts per nine innings mark

Kade Snell

Outfielder, First Team

  • The Tide’s everyday left fielder, starting 58 of 59 games
  • Named a First Team All-SEC selection as voted by the league’s head coaches
  • Managed a .363 average (77-for-212) with 13 doubles, one triple, 10 home runs, 52 RBI and 49 runs, adding 38 walks and six hit-by-pitch
  • Led Alabama in batting average, hits and on-base percentage
  • His .363 average finished fourth among SEC hitters, while his .464 on-base percentage ranked eighth
  • Struck out just 18 times in 261 plate appearances, a rate of just 6.9 percent

Riley Quick

Starting Pitcher, Second Team

  • Made 14 starts on the mound a year removed from Tommy John surgery
  • Earned Second Team All-SEC accolades
  • Responsible for a 3.92 earned run average (27 ER/62.0 IP) to go with 70 strikeouts to just 24 walks
  • His 70 strikeouts led all Alabama pitchers, equating to a 10.2 strikeouts per nine innings mark
  • Surrendered two earned runs or less in 11 of his 14 starts
