Clanton, Weaver Earn All-America Recognition by Golfweek

TALLAHASSEE– Florida State men’s golf team student-athletes Luke Clanton and Tyler Weaver earned All-America honors from Golfweek on Wednesday. Clanton was named First Team, while Weaver was tabbed honorable mention.
 
Clanton, who begins is professional career on Thursday at the RBC Canadian Open after closing out his FSU career at the NCAA Championship.
 
Clanton led the Seminoles to four victories in 2024-25, while topping the leaderboard in each win. Clanton became the first two-time NCAA Regional champion, after winning the Tallahassee Regional at 15-under, 201, setting a new course record for a three-round low at Seminole Legacy.
 
He finished the season with a stroke average of 69.50, the third highest in program history next to his own program record (69.11) and John Pak (69.40).
 
The Hialeah, Florida native became the second player to win the Ben Hogan Award, an honor that annually recognizes the top men’s NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer based on all collegiate, amateur and professional events over the previous 12 months.
 
Clanton is expected to tee off at 7:40 a.m. at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley on Thursday. Alums Cristobal Del Solar (1:39 PM) and Pak (2:01 PM) will also be in the field at the RBC Canadian Open
 
Weaver, who qualified for the 125th U.S. Open on Monday, finished his sophomore season with six top 10 finishes. He led the Seminoles at the 2025 Cabo Collegiate, where he secured his first career tournament victory behind a score of 8-under, 205.
 
The Newmarket, England native, was the runner-up at the 2025 ACC Championship at 8-under, 208 and he also finished third at the 2024 Jackson T. Stephens Cup.
 
Weaver was named 2025 PING All-District for the Southeast during the NCAA Championship.
 
Weaver is representing Team International at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup from June 5-7 at the Congaree Golf Club.
 
Since 1999, Golfweek has selected All-Americans in addition to Players and Coaches of the Year in men’s and women’s college golf. The tradition of honoring the best in college golf continues this year.
