Progress Continues for Walton Public Works Projects

Walton County – May 27, 2025 – Walton County Public Works continues to make significant progress on several ongoing infrastructure projects throughout the county. These projects, executed by our in-house crews, are designed to improve safety, enhance quality of life, and ensure the long-term sustainability of our community. We appreciate the public’s patience as Public Works complete these vital projects.

Perkins Road Resurfacing Project

Crews are making excellent progress overlaying the milled asphalt. This project will significantly improve the road surface and driving conditions for residents.

Karli Court Dirt-to-Pave Project

The Karli Court dirt-to-pave project is advancing smoothly. Crews are diligently preparing the roadbed in anticipation of paving, which will provide a durable surface for residents.

Paxton Senior Center Retention Pond

Construction of the baffle wall at the Paxton Senior Center Retention Pond is progressing well, with only six posts remaining to be installed. Public Works is currently awaiting delivery of the necessary materials to complete the project. This

improvement will enhance the effectiveness of stormwater management in the area.

South Walton Bark Park Improvements

South Walton Bark Park is currently undergoing major renovations, which include bringing in dirt to elevate the property, redirecting drainage, and installing new sidewalks and fencing.

Forest Shore Road Drainage Improvements

Work continues to enhance the drainage system along Forest Shore Road. These improvements are designed to mitigate flooding and improve overall water management in the area.

S. Norwood Road Sidewalk

Steady progress is being made on the new sidewalk along South Norwood Road. This project is designed to improve pedestrian accessibility and safety, offering a secure pathway for walkers and enhancing community walkability.
